Hi everyone!

I’m Suzanne, a Family & Brand Photographer based in Sydney, Australia.

I have embarked on this exciting project to create a beautiful, joyous coffee table book!

DOGS ON DOORSTEPS  is a feel good, stylish photographic hard copy art book with meaning. A collection of beautiful dogs I photographed at their homes during the lockdown period in Sydney 2020.

image

Dogs on their Doorsteps began as a personal project launched during the 2020 ISO period in March, photographing neighbourhood dogs to retain a connection to my community and give back by providing owners with images of their beloved doggos. It started with my friends’ dogs, but quickly expanded and took on a life of its own through word of mouth.

image

image

Over 70 dogs have been photographed…COVID puppies, show champions, and old faithful companions. All sorts of beautiful breeds and rescue dogs. The process really cemented for me the significance of dogs in our families. They are our entertainers, our companions and our loyal best friends who provide 100% unconditional love. In these odd times, our dogs are our therapy. Delivering joy & companionship during long days/weeks of isolation.

imageA bucket list item of mine is to fulfil a dream of giving back to something that has meant so much to me since I was a little girl. Dogs – and how much they mean to us. To be able to support Paws Pet Therapy who can provide that same affection and love to the vulnerable in the community is a dream come true!! Once I have covered my own costs, a percentage of the profits will lovingly be donated to PAWS PET THERAPY.

PAWS PET THERAPY are a not-for-profit organisation who currently have over 120 active ‘teams’ (dogs and owners) out there every week giving love to our most vulnerable. These dogs visit people in Palliative Care, Hospitals, Mental Health facilities, Foster Care programs, and centres who care for those with disabilities. This amazing work is making a difference in so many people’s lives and is only made possible via donations. Anyone with a good tempered dog can apply and do the training! Even my crazy nut Bosley (below!)

image

image

AU$15,000 is the minimum amount to kickstart the printing process. It covers:

– Printing and packaging costs – high volume order of hard cover gorgeous coffee table books

– All out-of-pocket book production costs

– Design & production costs

– Marketing costs

– Transaction fees

– Payment processing fees

Anything above the minimum goal (after other costs) will go towards donations to PAWS PET THERAPY.

image

My DONATION GOAL for Paws Pet Therapy is $10,000 which equates to 200 dog visits. At each visit the dogs interact with about 20 people. That’s over 4,000 smiles on faces that were otherwise sad, lonely, frightened or anxious.

This project is aimed to raise funds to provide a stunning, premium quality product. We need $15000 to go to print

The 2020 Lockdown period has been (and still is) disastrous for many small businesses. It completely shut mine down, with all shoots having to be cancelled. This coffee table book, DOGS ON DOORSTEPS, is a chance for me to celebrate the doggos of our community, to boost my profile and provide and promote the amaing work that Paws Pet Therapy do.

image

I would love you to help get this project off the ground. Purchase a book or two – these books will be great Christmas presents!  The book is hard cover, approx A4 in size, with almost 200 pages of beautiful dogs photographed in all sorts of houses! Beautiful on any coffee table and a unique gift with meaning.

I hope you can join me on this meaningful journey, and I hope you love the book as much as I have loved photographing it!

September 18, 2020

Hi everyone

I wanted to update you all on what's happening with the Dogs On Doorsteps book.

Firstly, the book proof came back looking really beautiful so all the books are now being printed and I should receive delivery by late November when I will then send them out to you! Thanks to you all we have raised $5000 for Paws Pet Therapy!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart - it means the world to me and to Paws!

Secondly, at the 11th hour, I was approached by an Australian Publishing House who were very keen to talk. I discovered they automatically get sent links to books that feature on crowd funding campaigns like this and if one catches their eye they look into it. They were very keen to publish the book!  So I signed a contract!  The book will be distributed through all major book stores and department stores across Australia and New Zealand. I still can't believe it!

So I wanted to thank you again as the first print run enabled us to raise the $5000 for our therapy dog charity.

Looking forard to delivering all your books and thanks again for you amazing support!

Hi everyone

Just wanted to pop in and thank you all again SO MUCH for supporting this campaign! Thanks to YOU we have raised close to $5,000 for Paws Pet Therapy! Amazing! Truley warms my heart - I cant thank you enough. The books are off getting printed and we expect to receive them by late November at the latest (fingers crossed no covid shipping issues).

We have 3 days to go and I would really love increase the donation amount. I know its a stretch but if this gets in the right hands I have seen how it can go gangbusters in just a few hours. Its just getting the message out there. I am no marketing guru but I would like to offer the following:

As a final attempt to share the link and increase sales, I am offering a FREE FAMILY SHOOT (up to two hour photographic session on location - worth $200) plus A5 matted fine art print (WORTH $150).

To be eligible you'll need to do the following:

1. Share the Ready Fund Go Dogs On Doorsteps link to others and tag me (do you know anyone in the media or public eye?)

2. Tag others on my recent post about this (if you are on instagram/Facebook)

3. Express your interest in this prize and live within 10 k's of Mosman (Please email me at stevenson.suz@gmail.com)

You can have a look at my famiy galleries at ssphotography.com.au if you are interested.

Thanks again and have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes

Suz x

How much is the shipping that is refunded if you pick the book up?

    S  Suzanne Stevenson

Hi there, yes unfortunately there is no option yet for ‘no shipping’ so if you are local (Mosman 2088) I can refund you the $13 that would will have to pay when you order the book. You may choose to donate that to Paws Pet Therapy but I am of course more than happy to refund. Thank you 🙂 Suzanne
