Ikomaps is a social network to let you rate, review and compare products, services and businesses on a scale of sustainability, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
For example, if you want to book a hotel and one has a 2 Green Star rating and another hotel has 5 Green Stars, you can now easily make a better choice.
Cities consume 78 per cent of the world’s energy and produce more than 60 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions. Their built environments contribute to 36% of global energy use and 39% of energy related carbon dioxide emissions every year.
A growing number of green projects and initiatives are forming across every country, however what’s missing is the infrastructure to connect these isolated projects.

When we travel, we tend to make unsustainable travel choices because we don’t know where to fill our water bottle, or we didn’t know that animal sanctuary secretly supports poaching. With Ikomaps, you can easily see the cafes, sights and things to do that best support the local community and its environment. You can trust the information because it is curated by the locals who are passionate about the destinations they call home. These experiences make our travels so much more meaningful!

Combined with rapid urbanisation, a growing population and the increasing threat of climate change raises the question, where to from here? What is the new dream? Ikomaps requires $150,000 which will fund product development and designing the green star rating system.

Coinciding with COP26 and in partnership with Ready Fund Go, Ikomaps is a bold campaign to fund a social network so people can rate, review and compare businesses on a scale of sustainability.
We are approaching tipping points in our natural systems, meaning irreversible changes in the Earth’s conditions which humanity cannot survive, are imminent. World leaders in bed with black gold are letting money, power and politics get in the way of common sense. Citizens of the planet must rise above politics.
We need to be working on Plan B in case the world’s leaders fail to reach the targets in time to safeguard our future.
At Ikomaps we ask the question, ‘What if we had a list ranking every single business on the planet on a scale of sustainability, then cut off the bottom 5 percent?’ We believe if enough people agree, this idea can become reality.
To achieve our goal, we need your help.
