Irish Troubadour- The Áine Tyrrell Story

Galway born singer-songwriter Áine Tyrrell has been living in Australia for 11 years. This documentary follows Áine as she performs at Woodford-one of Australia’s iconic folk festivals. The doco captures the excitement and colour of this wonderful festival, but there is another story that Áine Tyrrell wants to share.

In this feature-length documentary, Áine Tyrrell reveals for the first time the story of her journey with domestic violence. Áine’s journey involved buying a 1966 Bedford bus and packing her 3 children onto it to tour the highways and byways of Australia for 6 years. The trip to Woodford is confirmation of Áine’s talents as an artist and as a mother. Áine’s story is an inspiration to everyone who faces difficulties on life’s sometimes rocky road. It is especially relevant at this point in time when domestic violence is so rife.

Help me bring this story to life by contributing to the production costs to finish the documentary.

Despite my best fundraising efforts, this documentary has not had any film funding from Australia or from Ireland. The film is entirely self-funded (plus some generous help from other artists and filmmakers). But in order to screen the film at Galway, I need to colour grade the film and do an audio mix. The total cost of the grade and mix is another $3,000.
