WE ARE A NON-DENOMINATIONAL, SELF FUNDED BUSINESS WHICH ACTS AS A SERVICE PROVIDER TO COMMUNITIES

image

We believe everyone deserves the right to afford a large variety of nutritious food, without putting a dent in the wallet or causing a sting of anxiety when going through a check out.

There is no question that food today is seen as a commodity and something to invest in, and some people can afford a larger variety of food, and some cannot and are thus forced to prioritise, and food should not be a low priority as stated over 2000 years ago, “let food be thy medicine” (Hippocrates).

More so some people have to weight grocery bills against the ability to pay utilities or rent to fulfil the essential factors to living – food, water- shelter.  Furthermore, with the health and wellness boom experienced in the past few years many families know they should eat healthier food but are either confused or cautious based on their financial position and education, thus puts extra stress and strain on people wanting to do the right thing by themselves or for their family.

Despite the great efforts of the big brands to lower prices to meet demand, there still exists a level of food insecurity that should be unfathomable in a modern society such as Australia.

How we plan to target both food insecurity and affordability is by initiating Australia’s first socially responsible discount grocery outlet.

QFB Wholesale Outlet is a non-denominational, self funded business which acts Service for businesses to establish and maintain social responsibility.

First established in Mid 2017, QLD Food bank is a link between the industry’s surplus and the welfare sector’s need.

We have been working on our business division QFB Wholesale Outlets after a successful pilot program to Mackay from the Gold Coast, where locals were able to access cheaper than RRP groceries and our profits after expenses were used to buy further groceries that were distributed to the local community.

We plan to continue delivery runs to other places besides Gold Coast once we open our very own outlet and distribution centre.

Our distribution centre based at the Gold Coast will house our delivery trucks, stock as well as be open to the public retail area to purchase below RRP items.

We will also be working towards using our facility as a training facility to upskill locals in job skills and social skills with our affiliated RTO partners.

The money gained will go entirely to the formation of the discount grocery store as well as allow us to give aid to the charities and community groups we have alliances and relationships with who help their various local communities and organizations.

What most people don’t know is we have also established in 2017 a division called Natural Disaster Management Services which assists Qld Food Bank and our supply chain to aid the community after natural disasters all lead by our experienced emergency service officers and paramedics/EMTs who want to use their skills to service the community.

QFB was established to steer its profits into the community to assist when in need: It was first established in Mid 2017 QLD and opening its community arm Qld Food bank is a link between the industry’s surplus and the welfare sector’s need.

We aided the community with free welfare checks, sandbagging, and food/water distrubution. This in return assists government departments in utilising their services under MOUs to aid priorities where required. Our team are experienced in multiple areas such as food, retail, marketing, health and emergency management and by utiising our skills we believe we can make a huge difference in our state.

We endeavour to also educate people in resilience, food insecurity, food wastage and more in many of our other community platforms.

Your aid in our start-up funding today will:

– Help raise the funds needed to sign a lease and assist with shop fit out, and purchase initial large amounts of stock from our approved suppliers (initial operational costs)

– Assist us dispersing much needed aid to people who need it who are homeless, struggling families, LGBTQI youth, youth drop ins etc with care packs to show them our community does care.- provide additional proof to investors that there is a real demand for our centre with an established crowd of supporters who want to see this happen

– Allow us to offer our customers competitive pricing across the centre and further reach.

* PLEASE NOTE – WE ARE NOT A PART OF FOOD BANK AUSTRALIA OR FOOD BANK QLD & THEIR SUBSIDARIES.
